The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the bright forenoon, 1 And the night when dark and still, 2 Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. 3 And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before. 4 And verily thy Lord will give unto thee so that thou wilt be content. 5 Did He not find you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) an orphan and gave you a refuge? 6 And find you lost (that is, unrecognized by men) and guide (them to you)? 7 And He found thee destitute, so He enriched thee. 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 And do not drive the beggar away, 10 Therefor of the bounty of thy Lord be thy discourse. 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
