The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the midday brightness 1 And by the night when it is stillest, 2 (Muhammad), your Lord has not abandoned you (by not sending you His revelation), nor is He displeased with you. 3 What is to come is better for you than what has gone before; 4 And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith) thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge? 6 And find you lost (that is, unrecognized by men) and guide (them to you)? 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 Wherefore as to the orphan, be thou not unto him overbearing. 9 and as for the beggar, scold him not; 10 And proclaim the Grace of your Lord (i.e. the Prophethood and all other Graces). 11
Almighty God's Truth.
End of Surah: The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa). Sent down in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
