The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 Thy Lord has neither forsaken thee nor hates thee 3 Indeed what is to come will be better for you than what has gone by. 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Found He not thee an orphan, so He sheltered thee? 6 Did He not find you wandering about and give you guidance? 7 And find you in want and make you to be free from want? 8 Therefore do not oppress the orphan. 9 And do not drive the beggar away, 10 And as for the favor of your Lord, do announce (it). 11
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
