The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 who taught by the pen, 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
