The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
