The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or orders piety? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
