The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 or orders piety? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
