The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
