The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the chargers, snorting, rushing to battle before the others, 1 and produce sparks 2 And push home the charge in the morning, 3 and leave behind a cloud of dust 4 Then penetrate to the centre of the enemy army. 5 Indeed man is very ungrateful towards his Lord. 6 He himself bears witness to that. 7 Surely he is passionate in his love for good things. 8 ۞ Does he not then know when what is in the graves is raised, 9 And the hearts' contents shall be brought into the open? 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
