The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 striking sparks of fire with their hooves, 2 by the dawnraiders, 3 blazing a trail of dust, 4 cleaving there with a host! 5 Indeed man is very ungrateful towards his Lord. 6 And verily to that he is witness. 7 And verily in the love of wealth he is vehement, 8 ۞ Does he not know that when that which is in the graves is overthrown, 9 And the hearts' contents shall be brought into the open? 10 Verily, that Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) their Lord will be Well-Acquainted with them (as to their deeds), (and will reward them for their deeds). 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
