Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Gross rivalry diverts you, 1 Until you come to the graves. 2 But you will soon come to know. 3 nay, again, you shall soon come to know. 4 Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!) 5 Surely ye shall behold the Scorch. 6 Then ye shall surely behold with the surety of vision. 7 Then on that day you will surely be asked about the verity of pleasures. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
