Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 until you reach your graves. 2 Lo! presently ye shall know. 3 Nay! Nay! you shall soon know. 4 Lo! would that ye knew now with the surety of knowledge! 5 that you shall surely see Hell? 6 And again, you shall see it with certainty of sight! 7 Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure. 8

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
