The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter, 1 who has gathered riches and counted them over 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever! 3 By no means. He will be thrown into Hutama. 4 And what will make you realize what the crushing disaster is? 5 (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze), 6 Which penetrates the hearts 7 Verily it shall close upon them, 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9
