Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Woe to every fault-finding backbiter; 1 Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it. 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever. 3 On the contrary! He shall be flung to the Crusher. 4 and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; 5 It is the Fire kindled by Allah, 6 Reaching right into the hearts of men, 7 closed around them 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
