Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 He shall soon enter a Blazing Fire, 3 And his wife also: the firewood carrier; 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
