Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 His substance availed him not, nor that which he earned. 2 Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame! 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 upon her neck a rope of palm-fibre. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
