Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! 1 His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained. 2 He will be plunged in flaming Fire, 3 together with his wife, that carrier of evil tales, 4 Around her neck will be a rope of palm fibre. 5

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
