Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. 1 His property and worldly gains will be of no help to him. 2 Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame! 3 and his wife, the carrier of the firewood, 4 Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
