Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Indubitable! 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In a high garden 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure – the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
