The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 By Him Who hath created the male and the female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 They do not expect any reward 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
