The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
