The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
