۞ When the example of Mary's son is quoted before them, your people cry out at it, 57 saying, "Are our gods better or him?" -- they cite him only to challenge you: they are a contentious people -- 58 but he was only a servant We favoured and made an example for the Children of Israel: 59 Had it been Our Will We would have made angels among you as successors in the earth. 60 He is a sign of the Hour. Have no doubt about it. But follow me. This is a straight path; 61 And let not Satan bar you [from it] - for, verily, he is your open foe! 62 And when Isa came with clear arguments he said: I have come to you indeed with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me: 63 "Verily, Allah! He is my Lord (God) and your Lord (God). So worship Him (Alone). This is the (only) Straight Path (i.e. Allah's religion of true Islamic Monotheism)." 64 But the denominations from among them differed [and separated], so woe to those who have wronged from the punishment of a painful Day. 65 Await they aught save the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they know not? 66 On that Day close friends shall become enemies of each other, except those who fear (Allah). 67
