O Prophet! Tell thy wives and thy daughters, as well as all [other] believing women, that they should draw over themselves some of their outer garments [when in public]: this will be more conducive to their being recognized [as decent women] and not annoyed. But [withal,] God is indeed much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace! 59 ۞ If the hypocrites and perverts, and the rumour-mongers of Madinah, do not desist even now, We shall rouse you against them, so they would not be able to live but a short time in the city with you. 60 Accursed – to be caught wherever found and to be slain thoroughly. 61 Such was the law of God among those before you; and you will not find any change in the law of God. 62 People ask you concerning the Hour (of Resurrection). Say: “Allah alone has knowledge of it. What do you know? Perhaps the Hour is nigh.” 63 Surely Allah has cursed the unbelievers and has prepared for them a burning fire, 64 Wherein they will abide for ever. They will find (then) no protecting friend nor helper. 65 On the Day whereon their faces shall be rolled in the Fire, they will say: Oh that we had obeyed Allah and had obeyed the apostle! 66 And they would say: "Our Lord! We obeyed our chiefs and our great ones, and they misled us as to the (right) Path. 67 "Our Lord! Give them double Penalty and curse them with a very great Curse!" 68
