The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 You will become three categories: 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 These are they who are drawn nigh (to Allah), 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 And those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 and amid the extended shade 30 And water poured out 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 and raised couches 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 And made them virginal, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
