Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
