Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
