۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ – 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 Verily they found their fathers gone astray. 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
