Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
