▼ 15 The Hijjr Valley
Al-Hijjr 6 of 6
AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 And We gave them Our signs, and they remained averse to them. 81 And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. 82 So the scream overcame them at morning. 83 And what they earned did not avail them. 84 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with truth, and the Hour is surely coming, so overlook (O Muhammad SAW), their faults with gracious forgiveness. [This was before the ordainment of Jihad holy fighting in Allah's Cause]. 85 Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator. 86 We have given you the seven oft-recited verses and the great Quran. 87 Do not even cast your eyes towards the worldly goods We have granted to different kinds of people, nor grieve over the state they are in, but turn your loving attention to the believers instead, 88 Say, "Indeed, I am simply one who warns." 89 (We have given you the Quran) as We had given (the Bible) to those who divided themselves into groups 90 Those who break the Qur'an into parts. 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 For that which they have been working. 93 Therefore publicly announce what you are commanded, and turn away from the polytheists. 94 Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers 95 Those who set up another god with Allah; so they shall soon know. 96 Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, 97 but extol thou thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise Him, and be of those who prostrate themselves [before Him] in adoration, 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
