And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 And We saved him and his household from the great distress, 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We called out to him, "Abraham, 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
