Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha Mim: 1 A sending down from the Merciful, the Compassionate. 2 A Book whose verses have been distinguished and explained, a lucid discourse for people who understand, 3 As a giver of good tidings and a warner; but most of them turn away, so they do not hear. 4 And they say, “Our hearts are covered against the affair you call us to, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you – therefore mind your own business, we are minding ours.” 5 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'I am only a human like you, to whom it is revealed that your God is One God. Therefore be straight with Him and ask Him to forgive you. Woe to the idolaters, 6 who do not pay charity and disbelieve in the Everlasting Life. 7 Surely those who believe, and do righteous deeds shall have a wage unfailing.' 8
