The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is overthrown, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
