Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
