Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what day is it timed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 till a known term decreed? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 The living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
