Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The people of the Wood too called the messengers liars. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 “And fear Him Who created you and the earlier creations.” 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 Then make fragments of the heaven fall upon us, if thou art of the truthful. 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 But they gave him the lie. And thereupon suffering overtook them on a day dark with shadows: and verily, it was the suffering of an awesome day! 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
