Believers, obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not turn away from him when you are hearing. 20 Nor be like those who say, "We hear," but listen not: 21 ۞ Verily the vilest of beasts with Allah are the deaf and dumb who understand not. 22 Had Allah known of any good in them He would have made them hear, but had He made them hear they would have turned away, averse. 23 O believers, respond to God and the Messenger when He calls you unto that which will give you life; and know that God stands between a man and his heart, and that to Him you shall be mustered. 24 Beware of sedition, which does not affect the oppressors alone among you, and know that the punishment of God is severe. 25 And remember when you were few and were reckoned weak in the land, and were afraid that men might kidnap you, but He provided a safe place for you, strengthened you with His Help, and provided you with good things so that you might be grateful. 26 O People who Believe! Do not betray Allah and His Noble Messenger, nor purposely defraud your trusts. 27 Know that your wealth and children are a trial and that there is an immense reward with God. 28
