And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Thereafter they (the people) came to him in haste. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
