Hizb 46
< random >
And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 Now had he not been of those that glorify God, 143 He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 Except the slaves of Allah, whom He choses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah). 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 They used to say before: 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 And peace be unto those sent (to warn). 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
