[Moses] said, "My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] 25 "Ease my task for me; 26 "And remove the impediment from my speech, 27 "So they may understand what I say: 28 And give me as assistant from my family 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 "Increase my strength with him, 31 and let him share my task, 32 “In order that we may profusely proclaim Your Purity.” 33 “And profusely remember You.” 34 Surely You know us well." 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 Already another time We favoured thee, 37 when We revealed Our will to your mother, saying, 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 Your sister went (to them) and said: 'Shall I guide you to one who will nurse him' And so We restored you to your mother, so that her eyes might rejoice and that she might not sorrow. And when you killed a soul We saved you from grief and then We tried you with many trials. You stayed among the people of Midian for a number of years, and then, Moses, you came here according to a decree. 40 for I have chosen thee for Mine Own service. 41 Go you and your brother with My communications and be not remiss in remembering Me; 42 go forth, both of you, unto Pharaoh: for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of equity! 43 yet speak gently to him, that haply he may be mindful, or perchance fear.' 44 They said: Our Lord! Lo! we fear that he may be beforehand with us or that he may play the tyrant. 45 The Lord replied them, "Do not be afraid; I Am with you all the time, listening and seeing." 46 Go, then; you two unto him and say, 'Behold, we are apostles sent by thy Sustainer: let, then, the children of Israel go with us, and cause them not to suffer [any longer]. We have now come unto thee with a message from thy Sustainer; and [know that His] peace shall be [only] on those who follow [His] guidance: 47 for, behold, it has been revealed to us that [in the life to come] suffering shall befall all who give the lie to the truth and turn away [from it]!"' 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 He said, "Our Lord is He who gave each thing its form and then guided [it]." 50 Pharaoh asked, "What about the previous generations?" 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a book, my Lord errs not, nor does He forget; 52 It is He who has made for you the earth as a cradle and threaded roads for you and sends down water from the sky with which We bring forth every kind of plant. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
