Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven becomes cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 And when the seas are erupted 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 Human being, what evil has deceived you about your Gracious Lord, 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together. 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 Verify there are for you guardians, 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 Verily the pious shall be in Delight. 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 What will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
