But as for anyone who chooses to remain blind to the remembrance of the Most Gracious, to him We assign an [enduring] evil impulse, to become his other self: 36 and these satans hinder them from the Right Path, while he still reckons himself to be rightly-guided. 37 till, when he comes to Us, he says, 'Would there had been between me and thee the distance of the two Easts!' An evil comrade! 38 But nothing will avail you on that day, for you were unjust, and you will be partners in the punishment. 39 Can you, (O Prophet), then make the deaf hear, or direct to the Right Way the blind or one lost in manifest error? 40 And if We take thee away, We surely shall take vengeance on them, 41 Or show you what We have promised them – We therefore have complete control over them. 42 So hold you (O Muhammad SAW) fast to that which is inspired in you. Verily, you are on a Straight Path. 43 It is indeed a Reminder to you and to your nation, and without doubt you shall be questioned. 44 Ask all Our Messengers whom We sent before you whether We had appointed any deities beside the Merciful One to be worshipped. 45
