The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining face to face. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 The reward for what they did. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 and banana trees, 29 And extended shade, 30 near to flowing water 31 And fruit abundant. 32 undiminished and never denied 33 on raised couches. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 For those on the right hand; 38
