And the brethren of Yusuf came and entered unto him, and he recognized them, while they recognized him not. 58 When he had made provision for them, he told them, "Bring me your brother on your father's side. Do you not see that I give you full measure and that I am the best of hosts? 59 "But if you bring him not to me, there shall be no measure (of corn) for you with me, nor shall you come near me." 60 They answered: "We shall try to persuade his father to part with him, and verily, we shall do [our utmost]!" 61 Then he ordered his servants: "Put their money back in their packs: They may find it on reaching home, and perhaps come again." 62 Now when they returned to their father, they said: "O our father! No more measure of grain shall we get (unless we take our brother): So send our brother with us, that we may get our measure; and we will indeed take every care of him." 63 He replied: "Should I trust you with him as I did his brother? But God is the best of guardians, and most merciful of all." 64 And when they opened their baggage, they found their merchandise returned to them. They said, "O our father, what [more] could we desire? This is our merchandise returned to us. And we will obtain supplies for our family and protect our brother and obtain an increase of a camel's load; that is an easy measurement." 65 He said: I will not send him with you till ye give me an undertaking in the name of Allah that ye will bring him back to me, unless ye are surrounded. And when they gave him their undertaking he said: Allah is the Warden over what we say. 66 And he said: O my sons! do not (all) enter by one gate and enter by different gates and I cannot avail you aught against Allah; judgment is only Allah's; on Him do I rely, and on Him let those who are reliant rely. 67 And when they entered according to their father's advice, it did not avail them in the least against (the Will of) Allah, it was but a need of Ya'qub's (Jacob) inner-self which he discharged. And verily, he was endowed with knowledge because We had taught him, but most men know not. 68
