And when your Lord called out to Musa, saying: Go to the unjust people, 10 The people of Fir'awn; fear they Me not? 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 and then my breast will be straitened and my tongue will not be free: send, then, [this Thy command] to Aaron. 13 They have charged me [with a crime] for which I am afraid they will kill me." 14 Said He: "Not so, indeed! Go forth, then, both of you, with Our messages: verily, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]! 15 So go ye twain unto Fir'awn and say: verily we are the apostles of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 Pharaoh said: "Did we not bring you up among us when you were a child? 18 And you did (that) deed of yours which you did, and you are one of the ungrateful. 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. 21 And this is the favour with which you taunt me -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 He said: The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you would be sure. 24 Said Firaun to those around him, “Are you not listening with attention?” 25 He said: your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers. 26 Pharaoh said to the audience: "This Messenger of yours who has been sent to you is simply mad." 27 (Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!" 28 Pharaoh said: "If you take any god other than me, I will certainly make you one of those (who are rotting) in prison." 29 He said: What! even if I bring to you something manifest? 30 Pharaoh said, "Show it then, if you are telling the truth!" 31 So Moses threw down his staff and suddenly it appeared as a serpent, plainly visible. 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
