Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O THOU human being! 1 and the Quran, the Book of wisdom, 2 verily, thou art indeed one of God's message-bearers, 3 On a right way. 4 with a revelation sent down by the Mighty One, the Merciful, 5 That you may warn a people whose ancestors had never been warned, who are therefore heedless. 6 Indeed, the word [of God's condemnation] is bound to come true against most of them: for they will not believe. 7 We have put fetters around their necks which reach up to their chins so that they are standing with their heads upright, 8 and We have set a barrier before them and a barrier behind them, and We have covered them up so that they cannot see. 9 Whether you warn them or do not warn, it is all the same; they will not believe. 10 You can only warn him who follows the Reminder (the Quran), and fears the Most Beneficent (Allah) unseen. Bear you to such one the glad tidings of forgiveness, and a generous reward (i.e. Paradise). 11 Surely it is We who bring the dead to life and write down what they have forwarded and what they have left behind; everything We have numbered in a clear register. 12
