The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
182 verses, revealed in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks 1 by those who reprove severely, 2 And those who read (the Word) for a reminder, 3 Lo! thy Lord is surely One; 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain, and Lord of the easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 And as protection against every rebellious devil 7 they listen not to the High Council, for they are pelted from every side, 8 To make them flee, and for them is a never-ending punishment. 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them (that is, human beings): “Were they harder to create than the objects We created?” We created them from sticky clay. 11 Aye! thou marvellest, and they scoff. 12 And when they are reminded, they mind not, 13 and if they see any Sign, they laugh it away 14 saying, "This is plain sorcery!" 15 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised (again)? 16 and perhaps also our forebears of old?" 17 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Yes, and you shall then be humiliated." 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 They will say: "Woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense!" 20 (It will be said): "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny." 21

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
