۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” – 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 The statement of Our Lord is realized against us, and we are tasting it, 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Thus do We treat the culprits. 34 Indeed, when it was said to them, “There is no God except Allah”, they were haughty. 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 (They say so although) he brought the Truth and confirmed the veracity of the Messengers. 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 He looked down and saw (his friend) in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For the like of this, then, let them labour, those who labour [in God's way]! 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 Save the bondmen of Allah sincere. 74
