And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
