SAY [O Muhammad]: "I am only a warner; and there is no deity whatever save God, the One, who holds absolute sway over all that exists, 65 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; the Almighty, the Forgiving' 66 Say, "This is momentous news, 67 from which you are turning away.” 68 [Say, O Muhammad:] "No knowledge would I have had of [what passed among] the host on high when they argued [against the creation of man,] 69 "Only this has been inspired to me, that I am a plain warner." 70 Recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a human being from clay; 71 and when I give it proper shape and blow My spirit into it, bow down in prostration to him," 72 Then the angels bowed before him in a body, 73 Except Iblis. He was filled with pride and turned an unbeliever. 74 [Allah] said, "O Iblees, what prevented you from prostrating to that which I created with My hands? Were you arrogant [then], or were you [already] among the haughty?" 75 He said, "I am better than him. You have created me from fire and him out of clay". 76 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here: for thou art rejected, accursed. 77 And lo! My curse is on thee till the Day of Judgment. 78 He said: My Lord! then respite me to the day that they are raised. 79 He said: Surely you are of the respited ones, 80 Till the period of the time made known. 81 He said: Then, by Thy might, I surely will beguile them every one, 82 Save Thy single-minded slaves among them. 83 Allah said: the truth is, and it is the truth that I speak 84 That I will fill Hell with you [Iblis (Satan)] and those of them (mankind) that follow you, together." 85 Say, [O Muhammad], "I do not ask you for the Qur'an any payment, and I am not of the pretentious 86 It, (the Quran), is nothing but a reminder to you from the Lord of the Universe. 87 "And ye shall certainly know the truth of it (all) after a while." 88
